At Timeout, we believe that a healthier, happier workplace starts with investing in employee wellbeing. This week, our team had a truly rejuvenating experience—taking a literal breath during a 2-hour yoga workshop led by Phillipa, an incredible yoga instructor with years of expertise.

The session was more than just stretching and poses. Phillipa shared an enlightening talk on the different types of yoga, taught us practical breathing exercises, and guided us through a meditation session. By the end of the workshop, our team left feeling refreshed, refocused, and reconnected with their own sense of calm.

Why Workplace Wellness Matters

Investing in wellness programmes isn’t just a "nice-to-have"—it’s essential. Creating space for activities like yoga or guided mindfulness practices can significantly benefit both individuals and the overall workplace culture. Here are a few reasons why workplace wellness should top every company’s priority list:

  • Reduced Stress Levels: Work can often be fast-paced and demanding. Taking breaks to unwind through activities like yoga can decrease stress and improve focus.

  • Improved Productivity: Employees who feel nurtured and balanced are more likely to be engaged and perform their best.

  • Stronger Team Culture: Shared wellness experiences create a stronger sense of connection and enthusiasm across teams.

  • Boosted Mental Health: Mindfulness practices such as meditation contribute to better mental health, resilience, and emotional balance.

Timeout’s Commitment to Employee Wellbeing

Wellness is a core pillar of the Timeout culture, and we actively integrate it through initiatives like this workshop. The response from our team has been overwhelmingly positive. Encouraged by the success of Phillipa’s session, the wellness team has already planned a follow-up yoga workshop this May!

But it doesn’t stop there. Our broader Timeout Wellness Programme is designed to create a fully supportive environment, where physical and mental wellbeing always comes first. From mindfulness activities to flexible work options, we’re deeply committed to building a balanced workplace.

Building happier, more balanced workplaces doesn’t happen overnight—but it can start right now. One mindful moment, one wellness programme, one yoga session at a time.
